The BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original is comfortable and easy to use. It provides excellent support for your baby’s back and head, and guarantees that his/her legs and arms are in a physiologically correct position. When your baby is a little older and has a stronger neck, the neck-rest can be folded down so that the child can face forwards and look around. From newborn (minimum 3.5 kg/8 lbs and 53 cm/21 ins) up to 11 kgs/25 lbs.

All fabrics and materials used in BABYBJÖRN Baby Carriers that come into contact with baby's skin are Öeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified, an international safety standard for textiles, and contain no health-hazardous substances. This means that during your baby's teething phase, you can allow your baby to nibble or suck on the fabric without worry.

The innovative design of the BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier allows you to safely carry your newborn facing towards you--then, once your baby has grown older and stronger, he, or she, can be carried facing outwards, so they can view their surroundings.
In both cases, the carrier's firm, adjustable head support allows babies to remain safe and secure in the carrier. Plus, the shape of the carrier positions your baby's legs in a spread-out, ergonomically-correct crouching posture that is recommended by pediatricians.
Adjustable to Growing Baby
The carrier's sliding buckle allows you to accommodate your baby as he or she grows in size. The minimum size requirement for use is 8 pounds and 21 inches and the maximum weight limit is 25 pounds. For your additional comfort and safety, the back and shoulder straps can be easily adjusted from the front to custom fit your body.
Innovative Two-Piece Design for Ease of Use
The unique two-piece design makes it simple for you to place your baby in the carrier unassisted. And if your baby falls asleep in the carrier, the two-piece design allows you to remove the front to lay the baby down without waking him or her up. The Bjorn is definitely the best looking and easiest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it's easy to get smaller infants into it. In the first 3 months, this was my favorite carrier. The "Air" version is basically the "Original" with much more breathable fabric. Unfortunately this doesn't address the biggest shortcoming of the carrier. My big complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than ~10 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. This is because the design keeps all the weight on your shoulders. It's like wearing a backpack BACKWARDS! The "Active" version has wider straps and a which provide additional support for a small improvement over the "Original," but it still puts all the weight on your shoulders, pulling them forward. We toured Colonial Williamsburg (lots of walking and wandering in and out of colonial buildings), quickly and easily with the BB. While other mommies struggled with their strollers and couldn't get into many of the buildings, we whisked through everything safely and easily. I know many people are concerned that they won't use it enough to justify the price - my response is that you need to make yourself use it!
