Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Original Organic - Walnut
The classic Baby Carrier Original is one of the BabyBjörn favorites that we’ve chosen to create with fabric made from organically grown cotton. The fabric complies with the GOTS standard and, like all our fabrics, is certified in accordance with Oeko-Tex, Standard 100, class 1 for baby, a health and safety certification that guarantees it is free from hazardous substances.
In our famous BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original you carry your child safely and close to you, while your hands are free to do other things. The BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original provides excellent support for the child’s back and head and ensures that the child’s legs and arms are in a physiologically correct position. When the child is older and his/her neck is stronger, the head support can be folded down so that the child can be carried facing forward, allowing him to look around.

In both cases, the carrier's firm, adjustable head support allows babies to remain safe and secure in the carrier. Plus, the shape of the carrier positions your baby's legs in a spread-out, ergonomically-correct crouching posture that is recommended by pediatricians.
Adjustable to Growing Baby
The carrier's sliding buckle allows you to accommodate your baby as he or she grows in size. The minimum size requirement for use is 8 pounds and 21 inches and the maximum weight limit is 25 pounds. For your additional comfort and safety, the back and shoulder straps can be easily adjusted from the front to custom fit your body.
Innovative Two-Piece Design for Ease of Use
The unique two-piece design makes it simple for you to place your baby in the carrier unassisted. The Bjorn is definitely the best looking and easiest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it's easy to get smaller infants into it. In the first 3 months, this was my favorite carrier. The "Air" version is basically the "Original" with much more breathable fabric. Unfortunately this doesn't address the biggest shortcoming of the carrier. My big complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than ~10 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. This is because the design keeps all the weight on your shoulders. It's like wearing a backpack BACKWARDS! The "Active" version has wider straps and a which provide additional support for a small improvement over the "Original," but it still puts all the weight on your shoulders, pulling them forward.
