We have an Ergo but you can't use that without an Infant Insert when the baby weighs fewer than a certain number of lbs (15 lbs?). We bought the Infant Insert. Didn't like it bc baby's feet were pressing into my tummy, by c-section scars. Husband tried about 3-4 different BabyBjorns. I didn't like them at all. Very heavy and cumbersome. I couldn't use it by myself, always had to ask him to help me get it on/off. it also hurt my back after about 5 minutes! Plus, heard that you can not use it for the upper limit of the recommended weight range. Was recommended the Beco Gemini. This is awesome bc you can use it without any sort of an insert for an infant (lighter than 15 lbs) and can use it until they are heavier than what can be used for the BabyBjorn. Totally doesn't hurt my back at all. so much lighter than the BabyBjorns. Also, it's more stylish and looks more sophisticated than the flimsier Ergo. we...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Lucas (Baby Product) I have researched MANY carriers since my son (now 8 weeks old) was born. I have a Moby Wrap, a Baby Bjorn, a sling, etc. I read and researched and while I love wrapping, it does take a bit more skill. Also, my background is I love wearing backpacks and when I read the history of the Beco Baby company and how their carriers were designed...I was intrigued. I read a ton of reviews online and knew the Beco Baby Gemini was the perfect carrier for my son and me - and I was right! We love it! I love that I can carrier him 4 ways and have him close - I LOVE baby wearing! Right now he can only really be worn facing in in a forward carry, but we will use this carrier for a long time with its versatility and comfort! My back is SO greatful because the Bjorn, while an easy to use carrier (I had it on and my son in it in just about 5 minutes the first time I used it), it is NOT ergonomic nor back friendly. The Beco Baby carriers are amazing and I highly recommend the Gemini if you want a SSC...Read more By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Lucas (Baby Product) This carrier does what it is supposed to. I bought it cause my child will NOT face in and I'm 5'2 and just can't do a framed carrier. My daughter is 21 lbs and on the small size and when she faces out it seems like she is doing the splits and doesn't seem comfortable. I'm sure the carrier would be perfect when she gets bigger or for bigger babies. Its a hard to do the straps behind you by yourself. Other than that it is very comfortable |
