This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Metro Black (Baby Product) My partner and I have several different wraps, baby carriers, and whatnot. After using (and enjoying) a number of different baby-wearing slings, we purchased this. I was a little suspicious of it at first, because it looks like complex technology unnecessarily solving a problem usually tackled by a strip of fabric. I was so, so wrong. This device is really well-engineered, and makes strapping on the baby a matter of seconds, instead of minutes. It has very few moving parts, and does a perfect job of placing most of the baby-weight on the hips of the adult. The downsides are as follows: -There are some laces (for when the baby's facing in and sleeping) that dangle down the front. They can sometimes (not often) get in the way. -On the front of the thing, there's an area that our baby chews on relentlessly. It's just fabric, so it's not really ideal for this, and has slowly been staining and often ends up wet after very little time with the baby...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Lucy In The Sky (Ellicott City, MD) - See all my reviews This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Metro Black (Baby Product) I have a lot of carriers--the Hotsling Adjustable, the Moby Wrap, the Baby Bjorn, the Ergo, and the Beco Gemini. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with just the Beco Gemini, and maybe the Hotsling.
The Beco Gemin is superior to the Ergo because of its versatility. I will say that I like the hood on the Ergo better than the pop-up collar on the Gemini, especially for privacy when nursing (I'm sorry I waited so long to try nursing in the carrier...once I was brave enough to do it, it was so easy!) or when the baby is sleeping. I also miss the Ergo front pocket on the Gemini. The buckle for the Ergo is easier to unlock one-handed. But the cons of the Gemini stop there, and are far out-weighed by the fact that I can do front-facing or inward facing with the Gemini. My son loves facing outward, especially now at 13 months, but even when he was much younger, if he was awake, he wanted to face out. The Ergo was only okay for him if he was taking a nap or...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Metro Black (Baby Product) I just got this carrier today and after trying everything from the Moby to a Mei Tai this is the BEST carrier! Its so easy to put on and my son LOVES it! The buckles are harder to buckle and unbuckle but all around it makes me feel more comfortable with the carrier knowing they won't pop open. There are no long ties to drag on the ground and my husband can even wear it! The black is perfect. I can now get things done around the house without having to sacrifice keeping my little man close! Buy it, you won't regret it! Worth every penny! |
