All in all, it is the most supportive and comfortable carrier (for the parent) I have used. I have an Ergo, a Babyhawk Mei Tai, a Moby wrap, a ring sling, and a hotsling. I purchased this one because of the compelling, additional feature that it allows babies to face out, as in the Baby Bjorn (which kills your back and is not ergonomically fit for baby). We went for a long hike with my son when he was 7 months, and after using the front, side and back positions, he really wanted to just face out. First of all, I put this carrier on with my 33 month old while I was 38 weeks pregnant, and it was actually comfortable (granted, I would not have taken a hike, but it was as good as I can imagine, better than Ergo). I like that for toddler (it is rated up to 35 lbs), the back goes...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Paige (Baby Product) The Beco is the 3rd baby carrier we've tried. First we tried the original baby bjorn, which both my baby and I hated. It didn't fit him well at any stage and was very uncomfortable for me. Next we tried the Moby. I really wanted to like it, but it was so cumbersome and after wearing it for a few minutes my wiggly baby made it so loose that I never felt he was well supported. Plus, it was so much fabric I was always hot and sweaty, and I never did understand how I was supposed to wrap the thing without dragging the fabric on the ground. Finally, we bought the Beco, and it was definitely the best of the 3.
Pros: *Thick and comfortable padded straps *Waist belt really does distribute the weight *Stylish design *Soft and no hard plastic buckles digging into baby's crotch or bottom *Many different position options *Probably the easiest to put on and off, and the easiest to get baby in and out of Cons: *Price...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Beco Baby Gemini Carrier In Paige (Baby Product) I am 4ft 11 and 105lbs and I have 3 children under 5 years old. I do not have time to fudge with the learning curve for a wrap. I am too impatient to learn intricate knots so I chose a buckle carrier. I did a lot of research because I was concerned about my size that I would have to put up with a cookie-cutter sized carrier made for larger women. This buckle carrier has put those concerns to rest. It is intuitive and easy to learn. Go on Youtube.com to get instructions on how to do the front, side and back holds... I"ve tried them all on my 18lb 7 month old and we both love it. I did not find them overly frustrating after watching the youtube video instructions. This is sooo much better than a Baby BJORN. It actually distributes the weight so that my back is not killing me while the baby is harnessed to me. I purchased mine (exact model) from frogmama.com on clearance for [...] she is always replenishing her clearance stock. Her...Read more |
