The Beco Butterfly built in infant insert means you do not need to purchase an infant insert separately, and your baby can sit higher in the carrier, in a natural healthy position. Later on, when your baby outgrows the need for the insert, you simply place her into the main body compartment, and the attached infant insert lays flat against the body of the baby carrier. The inside panel is one of the most innovative features of the Beco Butterfly baby carrier. Summary: Worth the price tag. 2008-08-27
Comment: I love this carrier and now take it with me everywhere I take my baby. It takes the same amount of time to pop my daughter in the carrier as it does to get her into her stroller, but while she's in the carrier, she's happy and well-behaved. Shopping trips and random outings have become 100% easier. So has cooking -- with her on my back, I don't need to worry about her getting splattered or burned. I love my carrier...it is by far my favorite and most treasured piece of baby gear. I also love that it's a cinch to readjust when switched from me to my husband.
I only gave it four stars because in front carry position the straps cut into my breasts. I am, however, VERY chesty (and breastfeeding, which makes it even worse :) and I believe that most normally apportioned women would have no problem.
This carrier is wonderful.
