Ergo Baby Sport Baby Carrier

Comment: I LOVE my Ergo sport. I just spent a week on the beach and we used the Ergo everyday for hours at a time. I didn't have any back pain! My daughter loves to be held, and at 23 pounds, this can be quite taxing on my 125 lb frame. But not with the Ergo! We used a Bjorn when my daughter was a couple of months old, but had to retire the carrier when she was about 12 pounds because I couldn't use it for more than 20 minutes at a time.

The sport carrier also easily fits my husbands 6'3" frame (I am 5'6"). It is also easy to put on and comfortable in the back and front positions. I haven't tried the hip carry position yet. I have nothing negative to say about the Ergo. I only wish that I had discovered it much sooner!

Comment: I bought this to carry our daughter in instead of using the stroller. I even got the waist extention sine the reviews said that men may need it since the belt was small. Well we tried it and it is really had for one person to put a baby in. Also we had a hard time fitting her in it and once she was on my husbands back he hated it. I think it's a great idea but either we need to work on how to use it or it just isn't for us. Also it's kinda pricey for all our problems.

Comment: I love this carrier. It's easy to put on and adjust. I'm 5'7" and my husband is 6'2" and we both use the carrier and have no problems adjusting the straps back and forth. My daughter also loves the carrier and will hang out in it for hours.

I love the convenience of the using the carrier, especially at times when having a stroller is not practical. Grocery shopping or walking through a crowded mall is so much easier.

This carrier is also "manly" enough for my husband to wear around. Something he never felt comfortable doing with our Moby wrap.

Comment: My son has LOVED his Bjorn carrier since birth. As he is growing out of it but still loves it, and as it makes life for mom so easy, I went looking for a new carrier and found this. The price is not bad for as much as we use a carrier, it folds down to nothing and is very soft for him. It does seem to put him in a strage position due to the fact that it is not as rigid of a seat as the Bjorn, but it does not seem to bother him. What does bother him is that he cannot face forward as he can in the Bjorn, but instead has to look around or at me, which means that he wants me to dance, sing, etc, where he was content to just look around from his Bjorn. The trade-off is that where walks in the Bjorn had gotten shorter because my shoulders were ready to give out, I could carry him for days in this, as it is more like a backpack for camping, in that all the weight is on your hips, not to mention that the straps are well padded.
I would not get this instead of the Bjorn, as this cannot be used until 15lbs, where the Bjorn can be used by 7 or 8 (if I remember correctly), not to mention, I felt much more secure with him in the Bjorn, but if you have a larger or older child that still likes to be carried, this is a great option.

Comment: Things I liked about this carrier:

*Three options for carrying the baby (front, back, and hip)
*Washable

Things I didn't like:
*A little complicated to get situated (lots of clips, buckles, hooks, belts, etc.)
*You have to be a bit of a gymnast to get this on all by yourself. I still have to get help from someone else if I want to do the front carry.
*A little pricy
*Baby cannot face outward

Overall, I am happy with this purchase. I need something bigger for my 8-mo. old who was busting out of his Baby Bjorn. This was the only thing I could really find other than a hiking backpack, which I didn't want since I use this at church and the grocery store. I even tried my three year old in this and although he was heavier, it still worked well. I use this weekly and it is a great way to have my little guy close and still be able to use my hands.
