This review is from: Evenflo Snugli Comfort Vent Soft Carrier, Gray/Aruba (Baby Product) Baby Bjorn might be the gold standard, but Evenflo has hit all the necessaries for a great carrier.
PROS: -Strong stitching and clasps (well built) -Adjustable for parents' and baby's size (our baby is just at the lower limit of 7 lbs. and at times needs a folded receiving blanket to keep his head from moving too much; even for our small baby this "Vent" model has plenty of gaps for safe uncrowded breathing.) -Reasonable padding of shoulder straps, good foam padding for baby (the aqua color) -Low cost compared to other brands (appears equally functional to much pricier brands) -Easily opens to either side top and bottom to get baby out/in CONS: -None. THOUGHTS: For sizing perfections, some company should make a small and large size for the baby portion that can be interchanged when baby grows (think about it- it might carry 7 to 26 lbs, but for 7 he's deep down in the carrier and 26 I'm sure he'll be...Read more 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful: By Valerie "Val" (Canada) - See all my reviews This review is from: Evenflo Snugli Comfort Vent Soft Carrier, Gray/Aruba (Baby Product) If you are shopping for a baby carrier, invest your money in a high quality carrier that will accommodate your baby as he or she grows. Here are the pros & cons...
Pro - Cheap - Great for babies under 10 pounds - Good for short outings (20 min) - Folds up easily - Nice Color Con - The straps really dig into your shoulders - It does not distribute the babies weight very well - hence a sore back in no time. - It does not fit a man very well, so forget sharing the carrying with your husband. - It's a little tricky getting the baby in & out - My baby is now 4 months old and it's pretty tight. If you will mostly be using a stroller, perhaps it's good to have this model as an option. However, your needs & the baby's may change and it is good to have a high quality carrier to provide you with the freedom to roam as you please comfortably. She turned 6 mos. old/17ish lbs yesterday! This carrier was indispensable for the first 5 months, but when she got to be 17 lbs and 24", this became a very tight squeeze! In theory she can stay in it for another 9 lbs, but it is very hard to get her in! Once you add in the dimensions for cloth diaper and diaper cover, it gets to the point that we are pulling on one leg and then the other to WEDGE her down in there. Now, our baby is at the top of her percentile, but still, it's work getting her settled, and then she has red lines 'round the legs/crotch when we get her out. Unless you have a small baby and use only disposables, don't expect this carrier to last as long as it claims. For the first 6 months, it is great! Perfect, even! Love it, just get ready for a change. |
