This is my third time using a sling (my third child), but my first time using the Hava. I did a ton of research looking for a sling that offered more comfort than the linen Zolowear sling I had used previously. I didn't have a problem with the Zolowear sling per se, it was comfortable and worked great, but I did find myself more easily fatigued wearing it and really looked forward to switching up to the great comfy/padded Ergo carrier I used as my girls got bigger. (Love my Ergo for bigger babies!!!) After reading a lot of reviews and actually calling the manufacturer to ask questions, I chose the Hava. So glad I did! Love the lightly padded rails and ESPECIALLY the shoulder pad. Super helpful! I can wear my baby so much longer, comfortably. The small tail is a really nice size - plenty big enough to use to shade from the sun or coverage during nursing, but not in-the-way big. For the first 2-3 months of her life, my little daughter did not want to be put down -ever-. I wore her in my Hava sling every day so that I could get some work done but still hold the baby. My daughter is not fond of the stroller or car seat, but loved walking while being held in the sling. Unfortunately, I left my sling on the plane when I went to visit my mom! I miss it a lot and need to order another one. The airline says they'll look for it, but I am not holding my breath.

My lactation consultant recommended using the Hava for skin-to-skin time. I started using it at 10 days old (my baby was 8.5lbs). Son is now 3 months old and we still use it everyday -- our stroller rarely leaves the house. I just carry him everywhere. We generally only use two positions -- tummy-to-tummy and his back to my tummy for looking around. Son never felt comfortable with the laying down position so I don't bother with it since upright works nicely.

I will agree with a prior reviewer that when he was really small, the padding made it harder to get a tight fit because you have to pull it through the loops, but I was able to do it.

The Hava became my go-to device for calming him anytime he got fussy (after checking diaper first to make sure that wasn't the problem). In fact, I'm wearing it right now and son is fast asleep.

My only complaint is that it picks up a lot of lint and I have the black one so all the lint shows. I would have...Read more
