I didn't get this when my baby was newborn and it would have worked better then. Once he was a few months old, he wanted nothing to do with it. It was very tight with him laying inside. To be honest, i never tried using it with him on my hip. I wanted to love this, but we definitely didn't get a lot of use out of it. We use our Ergo now and he likes that.

I was trying hard to figure out how to use it properly - read instructions and watched video, which were confusing. After I put baby inside according to the instructions he started to cry trying to get out of there. It seemed tight for 11 lb baby. Could not struggle with it more and returned it.

This sling is great once your baby is able to hold his/her head up. I liked in month - two. Now he is getting tired of always lying down. I think it will be really useful over the next couple of months. Great product and get lots of compliments on it.
