Summary: I'd give this to every new mom if I could 2008-10-13
Comment: I got this as a shower gift and thank God I did, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to buy this lifesaver on my own. The thought of trying the other expensive, complicated looking carriers turned me off instantly. When I saw this and read that it was one continuous piece of fabric I was sold. I was surprised how well my baby took to it in all the positions and, now that he's a very tall and heavy 6 month old, I prefer taking this on walking trips instead of hauling out the stroller and trying to roll through the crowds. Just last weekend I had him in the hip position for over two hours at a festival while Dad carried his bag; I saw other parents manuevering their strollers through the grass and dirt and couldn't help but smile with my calm baby in my sling. I passed by only one other mom with the same sling and her baby was happy and calm too.
It isn't unusual for my baby to fall asleep in the sling; when I notice he's getting sleepy I just adjust the sling to my front and start bobbing up and down. Literally within a few minutes he's asleep, nestled comfortably on my chest and I can keep going about my business. I've had other mothers and store workers comment how impressed they are at my 'well-behaved baby'...which I can only credit to the sling for making him comfortable and calm.
Every baby is different and some may not like it initially; in that case I would hold onto it until they are old enough for the next sling position and try again. My only problem with this sling is that I don't have two...or three...or four! You really will want one in every cool design they have!

great dvd instructions WITH printed/photo instructions for easy referral
we looked at other carriers and this wins out in everything. it takes a little getting used to using it, but once you get the hang of it, no worries.
it's sp comfortable and easy, my husband even uses it. this design is not overly girly so it does dual duty well.
love it. i would absolutely recommend this to every expectant parent.
note: make sure you get the size that will fit you. that is important. and do NOT under any circumstances put it in the dryer.
this really is a lifesaver. when we accidentally shrank our first one (see dryer note above) i just about cried... it's that important.
