Summary: pretty good 2008-07-04
Comment: I read reviews of the other hip carriers and this carrier seems to address most issues that were negative with the others. I also have a front carrier, and after using this hip carrier for a while, which puts a good portion of baby's weight on your hips, the front carrier was not as comfortable on my back anymore. I tried a playtex one on in a store and liked this one better. I did try using this when baby was smaller and it did not work well, but now that she is 19 pounds, we both like it. Today she fell asleep in it again. The carrier does not support baby's head, but it is not a huge deal to hold her head close. The one issue I have with it is the shoulder pad that seems to like to rotate around, so I have to keep adjusting it so the "softer" side is down. Other than that, the fact is that you are lugging around a larger baby and there is nothing out there that is going to keep that comfortable for more than an hour or so. It is also a fact that carriers keep baby and mommy close and that closeness is going to be hot sometimes when the weather gets warm. FYI I did not like the leg straps and cut them off, but really like the strap that goes across baby's chest. Once that is on I know she isn't going anywhere.
