Summary: The best I've tried! 2008-02-08
Comment: The best part about this pack is how adjustable it is. I am 5'1" and was unable to properly fit any other pack that I tried. The Pathfinder is very easy to adjust for my height and there is no stress on my shoulders when my 9 month old son is in it. It is easy to put on and take off by myself (just read the instruction manual and you don't even need an elevated surface to do this). I have had my son in it for up to 1.5 hours while we go for walks, go shopping, or do yard work and he loves it. He sits up high in the pack and is able to see everything going on around him. The toy loops are great for attaching toys or pacifiers (to prevent him from throwing them to the ground). I have not had to use the rain hood yet but I am very happy to have it. The day pack attachment is also great as you really can't carry any other pack or bag when using the carrier. I would definitely recommend the Pathfinder to anyone looking for a child carrier. I can't wait to get out hiking with it in the spring and summer.

Summary: What a great backpack baby carrier! 2008-02-08
Comment: I thought I would want this pack to be able to easily take the baby along without holding up the rest of the family. That is exactly how it has worked out so far! While we haven't been on any serious hiking trips yet, this pack is just as comfortable, around the yard for an hour or so, as I had hoped it would be. The baby seems quite content and life goes on without having a baby in your arms or a stroller in the way. I couldn't be happier with this product. As expected, Kelty knows how to make a backpack!

Summary: I don't understand why it's so comfortable for everyone else 2007-05-08
Comment: I ordered a pathfinder online and was pretty stoked to received it so that I could take my daughter hiking. I read a lot of rave reviews about it. However, when I put it on for the test run it was uncomfortable from the first minute. I am 5'3" with a small frame and I think I am just too small for the carrier. I couldn't adjust the straps small enough and it was just too long for my short torso. the hip portion sat below my hips and the carrier did not rest on my back, but rather seemed to curve off of my back so that the weight was all on my shoulders. Very uncomfortable. My daughter is only about 25 lbs. Like I said, I think I'm just too small for the carrier. It seems to be designed more for a man's body-someone taller with broader shoulders. Does anyone know of a nice frame carrier designed for women?
