My wife and I purchased this for a trip to Japan with our 1 year old daughter. Overall the backpack was very helpful we would not have been able to travel/walk so much without it.

This is room to improve though. I'm 6' tall and this backpack never fit 100% correct. Maybe I didn't know how to set it up right, but basically if the hip support was on my hips, there would be too much weight on the shoulder straps. If I lifted the hip support to be on my stomach, then the shoulder straps were perfect, but that didn't work so well either. This wasn't too noticeable until the 2nd day when body parts became sore.

I'm still using the backpack for mountain hikes with my daughter. For only a few hours it is plenty comfortable. My daughter is comfortable in the backpack and tends to fall asleep.

It looks like a backpack - the kind you take your books to school in - but with sturdy shoulder straps and a waist band. Then you open it up and pop a toddler inside, give his shoulder straps a yank, the sides a yank, and off you go! It is easy to put a child into, easy to sit down and buckle on, and surprisingly light to carry. There is a place to put your foot to brace the pack while you take the toddler out. The seat is adjustable, the little one's feet can go inside when he's small and outside as he gets bigger. The pocket on the back really does hold diapers and wipes and a whole change of clothes, and possibly a few snacks as well. The whole business is both compact and roomy. If you do a lot of hiking it is well worth the cost.
