It was the 5th carrier I tried. I've since sold ALL the others. This thing does it ALL! The maya wrap acts as a sling for a tiny infant (upright, kangaroo style). Then, when baby gets more head control they can face out (as in the picture of the product here). You can wear baby in there when they are older on your hip as added support for their weight and a toddler can even ride on your back in one. You can use it to nurse in, you can use it as an "on the go" blanket, emergency car-seat cover in the rain, and even as a breastfeeding cover. The little pouch on the tail is the perfect size for a diaper or two and a ziplock baggie with some wipes in it, keys and a small wallet. The fabric these are made of is WOVEN so unlike a Moby, it doesn't stretch and get floppy. It truly offers fantastic support. The level of adjustability for comfort of mom and baby is outstanding. We have tried several baby carriers. We love the Ergo for long walks and housework, but it's too bulky to travel with. The Moby was way to stretchy and complicated, and the Balboa could have been great, but my daughter kept sinking into the deep pouch. The Maya Wrap is just a great sling. The fabric is breathable, the pouch is adjustable to fit all different sizes of babies,and it's super comfy for both mom and baby. I still love my Ergo for long walks and heavier activity, but my Maya Wrap is spectacular for short trips and leisurely activity. Plus, it folds up small enough to fit nicely into a diaper bag or purse. I absolutely love the comfort and ease of use. I love this wrap. The fabric is soft but durable and the pocket fits my wallet, keys, and phone with room to spare (I may have dropped a pacifier in there at one point). I get compliments on the sling wherever I go. Our little guy loves snuggling up in it. It is a bit tricky to get the hang of in the beginning so my husband and I watched the video a few times and practiced at home before we tested it when we were out and about. After a few tries I am able to grab the baby, slide him in, and have my hands free all on my own! We're coming out of the newborn/no head control stage and he seems to like having a little support while he looks around now that his head is poking out. Great investment and worth the money!
