Maya Wrap Lightly Padded Sling in Undyed Ivory

Comment: i love this sling because it is so versatile. i carried my baby in it from day one, and my 2 year old fits comfortably in it, too. it stashes easily in a diaper bag.

a good carrier means not having to use a stroller or lug a heavy infant car seat around. the maya wrap is adjustable, so my husband or babysitter can use it, too. i've used a number of carriers and wraps and love the maya wrap best. i don't know what i'd do without it. babies want to be held, and mamas need to get things done--my maya wrap lets me do both.

(i have this same model and mine had none of the chemical odor issues that the other poster mentions. it's perfect.)

Comment: I am currently in the process of washing this wrap for the 3rd time in an attempt to remove the HEAVY fragrance on the wrap. I ordered the undyed ivory specifically to avoid chemicals. I spoke with the seller and the manufacturer of the wrap and both were really not able to give me an answer as to what the strong fragrance was specifically. They told me at first it was a rinse they washed the wraps in to remove the excess dye. After I told them I had bought the undyed wrap they then said it was just "some sort of rinse" that they were not sure of what it was exactly. They could not even tell me how to remove the fragrance. I guess I'll just keep washing it and hope the smell eventually leaves. Kind of scary though, to wrap your baby up in a chemical laden baby wrap that 3 washings in HOT soapy water has not been able to remove the chemical.

Comment: Don't be disappointed the first time you try out your Maya wrap when your baby starts screaming and your back hurts. It takes a few tries to get it right, but once you do, it is a wonderful way to carry your baby. It is the only way I can get housework done when I'm home alone. I still haven't figured out how to keep the baby from getting all sweaty when she's in it, but I still love to use it.
