Moby Wrap Moby D 100% Silk Baby Carrier, Flowers

I have both the moby and the jade moby d. First, the jade silk is a beautiful versatile pattern. It seems that it would match with nearly any solid color. And it is nice as a new mommy who feels covered in spit-up and can't find matching socks for herself to have something that feels really stylish. The downside to the moby d is that it is harder to use than the plain moby. The moby d is not as long, and I can tell you that this post partum belly of mine needs all the length I can get. It is actually designed to not do that final wraparound around your waist. In addition, the silk panel doesn't stretch at all. The end result of these two changes is that it is more difficult to figure out how to tie properly. You have to tie it a bit looser so that there is enough fabric to get around your baby. If you leave too little, because there is no stretch to the silk, it will be too tight for your little one. Too loose and you are afraid that baby might fall out. As time is passing...Read more

I loved the idea of the moby, and was really hopeful that my second child would like it as I was looking forward to all the different options for carrying her. Unfortunaletly, neither she Noe I could tolerate it, despite about 10 or 11 attempts to "get used to it.".

First, the thing is enourmous! There must be 8-10 yards (yes YARDS!) of fabric here! Trying to get that set up just to get baby into it is a feat in itself... And God help you if you are alone and it's raining out! I may be a bit uncoordinated, but IMHO this is a two person effort to get the thing on. Second, you have to really get it right from a wrapping and tightness perspective, or baby sinks down into a little lump at the bottom of the pocket (and in my baby's case, screams her head off... But that's another story!!). Finally, my baby unfortunately has reflux issues and the positioning for newborns with reflux is intolerable to them.

I wish I had this with my first baby! Right out of the package it is super soft and great quality. The instruction booklet is very well written with step by step photos of the different holds you can wear your baby in. I got my newborn in the newborn hold on the first try. Love this product and recommend it to friends.
