My son loves this carrier!!!,

I used all sorts of carriers (bjorn, ergo etc.). Most of them push the baby/kid against your body. My son is 16 months old and I still use Ergo for 5-10 minute walks. Longer than that I go with Phil&Teds. He loves it. He didn't give me his take on it ;) but I think he loves it because:
1. He can see around easily, he has the prime view.
2. It has a sun canopy which doubles as a shelter for other weather surprises.
3. He has his own compartment...his body is not pushed and squeezed against anything yet he is buckled safely.
The reasons why I love it:
1. Hands free.
2. It has two good sized compartments.
3. It can stand on its own...it can even be used as a high chair outside for quick bites ( with some care... the ground should be level and baby should not rock and roll in it.)
4. I get a lot of complements. I have to accept that it looks cool.
5. Light weight...but with the baby of course you are going to be carrying at...Read more

Not so great.,

I was really excited to receive this backpack for my 10-month-old daughter. She's big for her age (almost 30lbs) and has grown out of her Ergo, so I was looking for an alternative (we live in the city and strollers aren't always an option for us). Unfortunately, this wasn't it.
I'm not a hiker, which means I'm not familiar with how to adjust the Metro. And the instructions aren't great. There's no video (either through the company or online by a consumer), so I relied on the kindness of some outdoorsy neighbors who tried to adjust it for me.
Sadly, it didn't work. I could only wear this with my daughter in it for about 30 minutes before my back started hurting. And my husband, who's 6'4", could only wear it for about 5 minutes before complaining. I wrote Phil and Teds's customer service department about the issue but still haven't heard anything.
So it's going back. And we remain really disappointed -- in the product and the company.

Let me just start by saying I am one of those people that just read reviews and never review them. But this product inspired me to write a review.
So we looked at other Child Carriers at BuyBuy Baby. Looked at the Kelty version. They were nice and our little guy (2 yrs old) fit well. It was pretty comfortable, but not very stylish. They had the Metro available for special order, but decided to get on Amazon because it was cheaper and had free shipping and return.
Just unboxed it and I was quickly impressed. It is very well made and really simple to use. Comes with really simple to understand instructions (and sarcastic). Of course didn't use them at first, but then reviewed them for some features. Our guy fit it in very nicely and was very secure. I put him in, and had to take him out to adjust something and he screamed that he wanted to get back in. Got it on my back. Easiest by putting on a table edge and then backing up. Adjusted the straps and away we go. It...Read more
