The Infant Insert is specifically designed to allow your newborn child (up to 4 to 6 months of age) to be sitting in the proper position while being carried in the Pognae Baby Carrier. The flexible flaps at the top of the Infant Insert provides the proper head support during the crucial months of development for your newborn child. The Infant Insert also ensures that your newborn is sitting in the proper position and supports the development of the spine and hips. Each Infant Insert also comes with an Infant Insert Block that allows your baby to be sitting at the proper height while being carried in the carrier. The Infant Insert along with the Infant Insert block can be easily placed and adjusted in your Pognae Baby Carrier

I have a 5 week old baby and wanted to wait until she was roughly 8lbs before we tried out the Pognae w/ infant insert with her. She definitely fit it well (see picture) and is actually really happy and content in it. It works out well and she just stays frogged up inside instead of sticking her feet out. She loves being close to me especially with it being autumn. I even found swaddling her up inside of the infant insert or wrapping a blanket around it was perfect for wintertime. This is a really great addition to the Pognae and I use it on a regular basis. It does make carrying the Pognae around a bit bulky but I just keep it either in a separate bag in the car or underneath her Chicco travel stroller or in our Joovy Sit n Stand.
