I gave this product 3 stars because, as bookends, they don't do the job. I gave them 3 stars because they still came in handy. My baby loves "Mr. Owl," so I keep one at home and one at daycare. She coos at him more than she does at me some days! It's those big beautiful eyes. Anyhow, I think Skip Hop has adorable designs, but this product could probably just be marketed as a toy.

These owl book ends are a wonderful addition to the book shelf in the nursery. I am sure when my son is old enough, he will enjoy them just as much as I do now! They are heavy enough to hold up the books but not too heavy as to create a hazard if they fall off the shelf. I do recommend them to any one looking to add a little touch to complete their Skip Hop Tree Top Friends nursery.

I was so excited to get these in the mail for my daughters room. Huge disappointment. As adorable as they are, they are NOT heavy at all. These are not ideal for use as bookends, they are not heavy enough for even four small paperbacks. Cute to use as decorations as they are more like plush dolls than bookends; but for the money this product is not worth it. Returning the item.
