Sun Roof / Rain Cover (2010)

Everything about the Deuter child carrier is fantastic. Great craftsmanship, great materials. The sun/rain roof is very light weight and easy to put on and remove. I definitely recommend everything about the child carrier.

This is very nice. It is defiantly better than nothing. But it does not completely keep the sun out of his eyes.

This cover is very easy to attach to the carrier, and it works great as long as the sun is behind you. If you are hiking towards the sun, your little one may still get the sun in their eyes. In comparison, my sister-in-law has a Kelty carrier, and the sun shade covers the child's face and back of head completely. However, the sides of the Kelty are open. Between the two brands, the Kelty may be better if you little one gets very upset when the sun is in their eyes. The Deuter, along with a wide brim sunhat, worked just fine for our 12 mile hike with our 10 month baby.
PS - Mind the lower tree branches with this on or you may get stuck. :)
